Welcome to the official webpage for the Bur Oak Secondary School Guidance Department. We are pleased that you are seeking information about our department. We hope you will find this format a helpful and effect method to obtain information regarding some of the aspects 
of Bur Oak Secondary School.

One of the goals of the BOSS Guidance Department is to prepare our students for life beyond high school. To accomplish this we provide a wide range of support, information, encouragement and guidance that is tailored and specific to each student’s academic year. For example during the fall much of the work we do with grade 12 students  is focused on the preparation and completion of university and college applications, however, with grade 9 at this time, we are concentrating on meeting and getting to know them. We are also looking to assist them with any problems that they may be having making the transition from elementary school to the high school.

 How to book an appointment:

• before or after school, on a spare or during lunch go into Guidance Office
• book an appointment with a counsellor of your choice in the appointment binder
• if the appointment is during a class period, the secretary will give you a yellow appointment slip
• show the slip to the teacher when leaving or returning to class
